THE WRITER’S RESIDENCY
The AEON ATELIER offers a small number of private residencies for writers seeking sustained companionship as they bring a book, manuscript, or body of work more fully into form.
A residency may begin with the earliest questions of vision and structure, unfold alongside the writing itself, accompany the revision of an existing manuscript, or help prepare a finished work to meet the world. Each residency is shaped around the writer and the particular needs of the work.
Through close reading, editorial conversation, creative inquiry, and thoughtful structure, the ATELIER creates a protected space in which the work can deepen and continue to move.
Structure belongs to the container. Freedom belongs to the work.
WITHIN THE ATELIER
Depending on the project and where it is in its development, our work together may move through one or more of these territories:
I. SOUL + STRUCTURE
For clarifying the deeper intelligence of the work… And for discovering the form, architecture, voice, and direction that can best hold it.
II. COMPOSE + CREATE
For developing the manuscript with guidance, momentum, and thoughtful collaboration… And for accompaniment through the making itself: developing ideas, writing into the work, and sustaining creative momentum as the manuscript takes shape.
III. REVISE + REFINE
For shaping and elevating an existing manuscript through editorial refinement… And for returning to an existing draft with close attention to structure, coherence, language, rhythm, and the integrity of the whole.
IV. PROPOSAL + PUBLISHING
For generating a book proposal, sample chapters, and submission materials for publication… And for preparing the work to meet the wider world through positioning, platform-building, and the thoughtful consideration of its next stage of life.

The creative collaboration that unfolds within the AEON ATELIER is approached with thought, care, and discretion. Many of our projects are developed under NDA, and all work remains fully yours.
