ABOUT NAOMI
Naomi Aeon, PhD is a writer, editor, and founder of AEONIA, a boutique publishing house devoted to works of transformation, imagination, remembrance, and cultural renewal.
Drawn to “the life of the mind,” she became a professor of literature and cultural theory, teaching at Harvard, then Yale, for twelve years.
Along the way, her inquiries led her into “the life of the soul,” expanding her understanding of what it means to be human, and how personal transformation and cultural renewal might inform one another.
A lifelong student of the human condition—its assumptions as well as its absurdities—Naomi is especially interested in what happens at the intersections of philosophy, imagination, consciousness, and culture.
Her workshops and salons are part philosophical inquiry, part personal exploration, and part cultural interrogation. She also serves as a thought partner and book-writing mentor for change agents and imaginative thinkers.
Currently, her work explores the many forms of intelligence, including those we have yet to recognize, and the possibilities that emerge between them.
“If we are seeing clearly,
we will see through and beyond.
Beyond what we expect.
Beyond what we’ve been told.
Discerning what is actually there.”
