Together, we read for what is already alive on the page, what has not yet found its fullest expression, and what may be obscuring the work’s own intelligence.
This may include attention to structure, argument, voice, rhythm, coherence, pacing, language, and the relationship between individual passages and the whole.
But revision here is not simply correction.
It is a practice of seeing again.
The aim is not to impose another voice upon the work, but to help the work become more distinctly, coherently, and powerfully its own.
